This is what we call a fail of epic proportions, if one the worlds most visited sites get hacked, who knows what could happen? A group of hackers that call themselves “Iranian Cyber Army” just got control over Twitter. What will come out of this, we don´t know yet. But I do know that we all will need an explanation.

Twitter Hacked by the “Iranian Cyber Army”
According to the latest news on Mashable, Twitter just got hacked by a group that claims they are the “Iranian Cyber Army”. At this time, no one knows what the hackers were after. Did they just want to make the headlines? Or did they hack the site to reach our accounts passwords and personal information? Either way, we here at BeCreative Magazine and Mashable suggest that you change your password as you read this.
The image you see below shows how Twitter looked for the few minutes it was down. This ain´t a good sign for any website, especially not a site that aims to compete with Facebook.
According to some of Mashable´s readers, saying that the event of Twitter, being hacked could be due to a third party DNS being compromised. But even if this is true, are we still able to trust one of the worlds most visited sites?
Personally I would say yes, of course we´re still able to trust Twitter, as one of the worlds most popular and visited sites. But to be on the safe side, please change your passwords and be sure to check for any strange tweets you´ve sent from your account.
Update
Draft from Twitter´s blog: Domain Name System or DNS is an Internet protocol used to translate IP addresses into domain names so instead of typing in a long string of numbers we can enter urls like www.twitter.com into a browser to visit our favorite web sites. Last night, DNS settings for the Twitter web site were hijacked. From 9:46pm to 11pm PST, approximately 80% of Traffic to Twitter.com was redirected to other web sites. We tweeted, blogged, and updated our status page last night.
During the attack, we were in direct contact with our DNS provider, Dynect. We worked closely to reset our DNS as quickly as possible. The motive for this attack appears to have been focused on defacing our site, not aimed at users—we don’t believe any accounts were compromised. If you’re concerned that your account could have been affected in some way, feel free to contact us, accountsafe [at] twitter.com.
